Health Anxiety is now the world’s leading form of anxiety condition - but what can you do to remove it?
Health anxiety manifests in many ways but the more common manifestations include:
Gaining medical reassurance about your symptoms
Googling your symptoms
Checking - physically checking your body for abnormalities
Intrusive thoughts around health and wellness
seeking regular reassurance from loved ones
Becoming anxious when health is discussed
Becoming hyper-vigilant with protection - masks etc.
Taking your pulse, checking blood sugar levels etc.
Avoiding certain foods, chemicals or drugs
In fact any behaviour that seems to ‘keep you safe’.
Despite all the physical and mental manifestations of health anxiety, health anxiety is NOT mental illness.
Health anxiety is an embellished (heightened) form of what we would normally do to stay well and safe - your underlying fear disorder is the fuel for this inappropriate focus on health.
Health anxiety is NOT what you believe it to be - mental health practice would have you believe it is a form of depression, a mental illness, a form of deep routed psychiatric trauma but it is not. Understanding the psycho-physiology of your disorder will set you free for life.
Health Anxiety symptoms commonly manifest as physical symptoms such as:
Muscle pain
Shaking
Sweating
Dizziness
Chest pain
Palpitations
Blurred vision or dreaminess
Feeling faint
Wobbly legs
Urgency to go to the toilet
Digestive upset including nausea, bloating, indigestion, IBS, diarrhoea etc.
A lump or tightness in the throat and difficulty swallowing
Smothering sensations or shortness of breath
Pins and needles or numbness

Psychological anxiety symptoms may include:
Obsessive levels of ‘checking’ as previously mentioned
Derealization
Morbid thoughts
Depressive thoughts
Phobias
Obsessions
Overthinking
Intrusive/weird thoughts (Religion, sexuality, gender, relationships, harming people, doing sexually inapprorpiate things etc.)
Thoughts about self/harm or suicide
Social anxiety

No matter how many health anxiety symptoms manifest in a sufferer, they are not indicative of ‘level of suffering’ or difficulty of recovery, in fact, those with more symptoms often notice their recovery happening faster as the bulk of their symptoms fall away.
Health anxiety is intrusive and often causing more alarm as the obsessive cycle of thoughts and checking spiral out of control, but it’s so easily cured with the correct knowledge and intervention.
Speed of recovery is not reliant on low level suffering, but only on three factors:

IS THE PROGRAM EFFECTIVE?
The proof is, as always, in the outcomes. Whilst other practices measure efficacy data in terms of attendance, we only measure curative outcomes.
Many 'evidence based' practices are deceptive in the presentation of evidence providing statistics which are presented as recovery efficacy but are actually, only, based on attendance rates.
NHS specified testing of our psycho-educational program returned data confirming 100% efficacy. This matches the confirmed science and historic experiences and data collected since 1997.
Our unique provisions should be the primary treatment pathway for all people of all ages experiencing any disordered emotional responses but should also be in place to recognise those predisposed to suffering, to prevent activation of disorder, to remove existing conditions but to also provide a framework for life-practice.
